Bath House
The Bath House project exudes character and personality, perfectly reflecting the owner of the property. Through a common understanding and enthusiasm, architect and client worked together to revitalise an original beach house and extend its life expectancy with practical yet elegant solutions.
Inspired by the client’s love of Japan, an onsen overlooking the National Park was designed in lieu of a traditional ensuite arrangement. The rest of the design followed suit and informed the exposed framing, central rock garden, front sliding door and general aesthetic down to the colour scheme.
Bordering the Noosa National Park, this north-facing property was in an ideal location. With the incorporation of security and privacy, the client can feel at ease with the house open to the north enjoying the natural flow of spaces and breezes.
The design has made the most of the existing building and minimised demolition and waste. Recycled roof tiles were sourced to complete the new roof and the gable roof line was chosen to seamlessly blend old with new.
