This room was transformed into a highly comfortable and functional space for multi purposes. Our clients wanted a space for their Grandchildren to watch TV when they visit, space to read together on the sofa, a home office space that felt cosy and homely. They required records storage in binders, a hidden CPU and general storage for gift wrapping and odds and ends as well as bookshelves. We considered a few room layouts before settling on this design which enables both sitting positions to be facing the view through the window.
One of the challenges was that the bulkhead, limited depth and the corner ducts that restricted depth on each plane. The new plaster cornice around the joinery completes the picture.
