NSW Small Kitchen Runner Up 2019 Small Kitchen
Making the most of this tiny space, this kitchen was runner up in the Kitchen Bathroom Design Institute Small Kitchen NSW, 2019.
In a downsized space that blends the old and new into a super space efficient, ergonomic workroom with character.
V-joint panelling in the dining space reflects the V-jointed ceiling. Window pane style display cabinets feature the family china collection and mirror a traditional oak cabinet in the adjoining space.
Doors that lift up, slide and bi-fold provide maximum access to everything required for cooking without a cm wasted. In bench compost makes preparation quick and easy as well as making use of the dead corner.
Extra deep bench compensates for the overall diminutive space allowing for great overhead storage and hidden pantry behind the the cook top.
Offset handles add to the eclectic mix of contemporary and traditional balance.
The use of durable melamine finishes on all the cabinets except the display cabinets keeps the cost and maintenance down.
LED Strip lighting under the cabinets keeps the benches lit up brilliantly for task work and dim to give a moody glow at night.
Antique mirrors back both displays to blur and warm the reflections which create a suspended china look at night.
