Thank you so much Sally! We are delighted with the way our second living area storage / entertainment / overflow kitchen storage / music cupboard turned out. We needed it to be so many things, plus look fabulous and sleek of course, so that we were at a compete loss to figure out even a notion of how it would work, but you really nailed it with both design and functionality. It was a slightly awkward space, and so well thought through by you. Thank you too, for all the other snippets of advice you gave us while working with us.

Sally was recommended to us by a friend who had used her to design a study. From the moment that Sally visited us for the preliminary meeting, we knew we were in the hands of an expert. She was attentive, thoughtful, creative and a great listener. She took time to understand our needs. Interestingly, whilst the original brief was for a wardrobe, the more pressing need was a redesign of the laundry/toilet/shower area, and so we changed the project halfway through. Sally came up with a way of opening up what was previously a small, dysfunctional laundry and adjacent toilet/shower area within a large home and making it into something that would look great in Home Beautiful. Sally’s use of her design tools to create a visual representation of the final product helped us understand how it would feel once completed - the similarities between the design drawings and the outcome were amazingly close. I would highly recommend Sally because of her creativity and customer-focused approach across a wide variety of design challenges.

After meeting with a number of Wardrobe Companies to design built-in wardrobes for our master bedroom and being disappointed with what they had to offer, I was so excited (and relieved!) to have found Sally. From the first phone consultation I knew I had finally found someone who would be able to meet our needs. But Sally not only met our needs, she exceeded them! Tom and I both work from home, but we were a room short, so we needed to find a solution where we could have a fully functioning office during work hours that became ‘invisible’ at other times. Also, due to limited storage space in our bedroom, my clothes were boxed-up and not easily accessible. Our large dining/lounge area with high ceilings led us to the idea of having an ‘office in a cupboard’ which needed to be designed in a way that blended into the dining room. That is how we discovered ‘Clever Closet Company’. From the moment Sally entered our home, we felt we had found the right person. Sally really understood our personalities, and how this was reflected in our living environment. She artfully blended Tom and my aesthetics with our needs, while considering the features of our building. Her generosity came through in her willingness to work on a number of design options and finishes until we were all satisfied that we had the best possible outcome. After much patience from Sally and review of a number of design plans, we absolutely love the end result. The display cabinets and bookshelves on each end of our ‘office in a cupboard’ are beautiful, and the office which magically opens and closes actually enhances our dining room. The bedside tables are perfect, and my bedroom cupboard finally looks great and functions! Credit here is also due to the master craftsman that Sally works with. Scott's eye for detail and workmanship is impeccable from the heavy doors that slide and fold so easily to the touchpad light strips. With his fun nature and reliability, Scott also is a pleasure to work with. Both Scott and Sally are passionate about what they do. They care about their clients and the spaces that they create. I found the Clever Closet Closet Company online and tentatively approached them about renovating the wardrobe in our one bedroom apartment. It is essentially the only storage we have so required some clever thinking in rejigging the existing space. There wasn't any other options to move, expand etc. The other restriction was budget. Sally and her team proved to be a welcome surprise. I expected that our job would either be too small or priced beyond our budget (as experienced by other cabinet makers we approached). Instead, Sally approached the project and myself as valuable and interesting as her more high budget clients. Nothing was too much trouble. The end result was a genuinely clever design, executed beautifully. I wasn't happy with what my local regional cabinet were recommending for the walk in robe. They only wanted to fit a standardised system and I wanted a walk in robe that worked if I was going to have to spend some money. It was always left up to me to make recommendations and decide how exactly what I wanted. I didn't want to deal with just order takers. I wanted someone who listened to my needs and helped me meet them. I found what I wanted in Sally and was so glad I got her to design my new walk in robe taking ergonomics and our needs into account. I asked Sally at Clever Closet in 2017 to design built-in wardrobes to fit beside the fireplace in my bedroom, with a build and fit installation cost of under $10,000. I had several long discussions with Sally about what I needed to store in the wardrobes, and what style I wanted. She provided excellent advice on what types of storage racks and drawers would accommodate my needs, and also on what exterior style would combine my wish for mirrored doors with the Victorian era style of the room. She obtained two quotes from builders that fitted my budget. The result is fantastic, a really stylish addition to the room that enhances its period charm, and that has plenty of the right kind of storage for my needs.

I was searching for someone to give professional advice about how to solve my individual storage needs for a new walk -in -wardrobe, kitchen and laundry for my house renovation. A very big thank you to Sally and Jillian at the Clever Closet Company. I had obtained a number of design concepts from a number of wardrobe manufacturers before engaging the Clever Closet Company, most of whom had offered me conventional wardrobe designs. Sally and Jillian were briefed to design an open wardrobe for a 1 bedroom apartment located in an converted inner city warehouse. The wardrobe was to be located in the bedroom which has 12 foot ceilings and needed to fit in with the warehouse aesthetics of the apartment whilst being highly functional. I wanted to ensure that the wardrobe could house my clothes and shoes in a highly presentable way. Sally and Jillian presented 2 options to me, one being a state of the art open wardrobe with a library ladder, the other being a more affordable elfa storage system. As the apartment is not my 'forever home' I ended up selecting the elfa storage system, and I am ecstatic with the results. The wardrobe was designed to precisely accommodate my storage needs and was delivered and installed seamlessly, the whole process being overseen by Sally and Jillian. I would not hesitate to recommend the Clever Closet Company and indeed have already done so.

I retained Sally and Jillian when I was renovating an upstairs balcony room in a Victorian terrace house. I wanted to combine a sitting room/library/work space. They were collaborative and Sally had some great ideas for managing the space in a relatively small room. I'm really pleased with the bookcase which was custom built. We discussed having a bold colour for the bookcase and it works well. I wouldn't have made that decision on my own. It's been a work in progress but I'm not in a hurry and it has been worthwhile to see the space evolve and change some plans as we go along. We are still finishing other aspects of the room so I have not included photos. Sally also re- designed my built in wardrobe and I love the shoe drawers.

Sally is a warm person and extremely easy to work with. I'd recommend her 100% to anyone needing a new wardrobe design. My experience with her was infinitely better than the one I'd had previously, going to a major brand directly. I needed several wardrobes for awkward attic spaces. I wanted a designer who'd have my best interests in mind for storage and flexibility, rather than trying to sell me product. Sally listened to my needs, advised me independently on what would work best and provided me with drawings I could use to shop around. She worked fast and was always extremely courteous. I am delighted to write a review for Sally Hart of the Clever Closet Company. I found Sally on Houzz after purchasing a property with little to no storage. Having lived in a home with built-ins in every bedroom and plenty of cupboards, this was our biggest challenge. I found Sally to be interested, easy to talk to, reliable and professional from the outset. We were fortunate to be able to access our new house some time before we moved in, and this provided an opportunity to meet with Sally and discuss storage solutions. She had some excellent ideas and a wealth of experience in interior and wardrobe design. Her suggestions were creative and practical and I could envisage that the project would add considerable value to our new home. Following our first meeting I gave Sally the go ahead. She promptly prepared detailed drawings and proceeded to arrange for quotations with companies that she recommended from previous successful projects. This groundwork enabled the first project, a wardrobe fit out, to take place just a few days after moving in. I now have a “clever closet”, smartly designed to store items at the right height, in the right place and in the perfect space. The best way to describe what Clever Closet Company does is that they are space strategists - and who doesn't want to make the most of the space they have? The biggest problem with innovative companies, is that it sometimes takes a while for people to cotton on and understand the full value and impact of what they offer! Lucky for me I got to know Sally and understood the value of her work. That said, I got way more than I bargained for and the value I got from the planning consultation blew me away. Sally took the time to understand my vision, then worked through each space in the house explaining not just her recommendations but the reasoning behind it. It helped me understand why some spaces just didn't 'feel right' and how to make the most of it. My new polytec wardrobe is beautifully designed to my needs, the colour is hazel strata which is very warming and comfortable i want to stay in there all day. The boys from creative space construction did an amazing perfect job and Sallys design has really work well for us, we're really happy with the whole start to finish process.

We engaged Sally to provide an overall bedroom storage concept with a focus on the style and the maximisation of our storage capacity. Sally's approach was, through discussion, to identify our wish list and priorities then contribute her own experience to validate our thoughts or suggest alternative options. From a style perspective she clearly considered our existing décor, however, she was not afraid to introduce other style, colour and finish combinations to ensure that we considered a broad range of opportunities. As the process unfolded Sally's experience became more apparent as she identified a number of layout and finish opportunities that we would not have considered without her input. She provided conceptual layouts for further consideration and after a few further tweaks we were agreed on the final layout. Overall a very relaxed and comfortable process made more so by a confident and detailed professional.

I bought a one bedroom apartment with little storage and little space for storage and the bedroom wardrobe had minimal hanging space. I asked Sally to design a new wardrobe insert, especially for my clothes, with maximum hanging space and storage for my shoes and bags. As well I needed a cabinet in the kitchen to house electricals and some dry food. In the lounge room I wanted an entire wall made into a cabinet to hold the TV, audio system, cutlery, crockery, glassware, vases, linen, towels, books, printer and computer, fold away ironing board and iron, and my art equipment. I am admiring my elegant and practical cabinet as I type this review. The clever design and maximum storage space created by Sally has improved my quality of life and the stylish finish has added value to my apartment. Sally managed to send me a floor plan within a week although she was going away on vacation, which I was very grateful for. However, the floor plan was recently executed by a company she recommended and unfortunately it has turned out to be a little tighter in space than imagined. I think had I not been in a rush to get the floor plan, and had my request not fallen on the same week Sally was leaving the country, the wardrobe floor plan could have been better designed.

I had the pleasure of working with Sally at Clever Closet Company on quiet a large project in 2015. Sally was professional, and a complete delight during the entire process of the project from start to finish. The ideas, and the organisation of Sally is something that made the day problem free and just over all quiet fun, which I look forward to hopefully experiencing again soon. We enagaged Sally to design my wardrobe for our new house. Originally out of the 5 rooms we had planned for it to be placed in another room however thankfully we had Sally on board early on in the construction process and we changed the initial plans. All I had to simply do was to measure what I currently have in space and describe my ideal layout. The rest was up to Sally and then I added a few personal tweeks based on personal preference - e.g. mirror on bench top or golden handles. It was very easy, I was looking for the wow factor but also to be functional, spacious and also look great. It's hard to think about all of the details that need to be consdered for a wardrobe- there are a lot of things to consider that you would never expect and by engaging Sally's services I am sure we got the best outcome. We outsourced the production of the materials from overseas however Sally did the design/measure/concept etc and all wehad to do was propose any personal preferences/requests. It was seamless, easy, cost efficient and also quick. I highly recommend it for anyone who is renovating, building or wanting to re create their wardrobe space engaging the experts is the easy and surprisingly affordable and has an even bigger benefit in the end. All my friends and family love my wardrobe its one of the most favourite rooms in the house, and thanks to Anton's help it now looks more organised and structured and I can actually find and see what I own!

I can't recommend Sally enough. Building a new house is such an exhausting mass of decisions, it was a relief to hand over the wardrobe design to someone else. She completed the design quickly, was flexible in tweaking it so our carpenter could install them and she was generous with her time in answering my many questions.

That’s where Clever Closet Company is brilliant. Not only are Sally’s designs beautiful, they are very mindful of the space available as well as the aesthetics. But the pure gold is that she really thinks about the versatility of the wardrobe & cabinetry so that it can be adapted as needs change. For example, a child doesn’t need much hanging space but when they do, the shelves can be removed and there is already a hanging rod there!

Sally gave us invaluable advice on the overall space planning of our master bedroom, with specific planning of our newly added walk-in closet area. I called on Sally from Clever Closet Company because she seemed to be the person that specializes in balancing storage and design and as an owner of a heritage home in Sydney that balance is what I needed. Organization and cleanliness are very important to me, so I was thrilled with the way the wardrobes work. They have been designed so everything is off the floor. There are no crevices for accumulating dust and I can clean the space very easily. I love how the shelves are recessed back so that I don’t get into a mess. I have had my wardrobes now for nearly a year and they are still perfectly tidy because the design was thought through very well and the space has definitely been maximized. In the study, we wanted office storage, a bookcase and a space to fit overflow storage like suitcases as well as guest clothes. Sally designed cabinetry that brings all of these elements together and in the process created the feature piece of our beautiful study. Our cabinetry will change as our needs change over the years so that we will never fall short of options. Scott and Ben were professional tradesmen in every way, respectful, punctual and eminently qualified in heritage work. I am extremely happy with the whole experience.

Decorating space, can be a difficult but rewarding project especially if you live in an apartment in a converted 1903 hospital building which boasts wide hallways, heritage features and 14 foot high ceilings. During the past 12 years all of our decorating issues have been addressed EXCEPT ONE: our main bedroom wardrobe...a space which was originally an ensuite bathroom but now an impractical wardrobe and storage area. Approximately 12 months later, after extensive investigation and planning the WOW factor has been achieved, this is because of Sally Hart and her enquiring mind and her professional and enthusiastic "team". We had 5 built in wardrobes with standard shelf and hanging space; some had air conditioning ducts running through them, and did not provide enough storage. Sally came and spent time with each of us to work out our storage needs and then designed wardrobes for each space that maximised our storage. The contractors recommended and organised by Sally to build our new wardrobes did a great job and we are very happy with the final product.

I employed Sally from Clever Closet Company to design my walk-in-robe. I’d been living in chaos by my standards for quite some time and had been acquiring more and more items over a period of 20 years. Firstly I have to say Sally was extremely friendly, courteous and professional on the phone and upon meeting her in person, these qualities were confirmed. After looking at the wardrobe and discussing what our needs were from a makeover, she came up with a plan to suit both my husband and myself. My brief to her was that as an allergy sufferer it needed to be as dust-proof as possible. Sally suggested a combination of open plan and cupboard doors at the top for less used items. I appreciated the idea she had of having things at eye-level whilst at the same time having different items of clothes still separated by compartments, enabling easier visibility. I also love my jewelry drawers and shoe compartments, enabling me to discard the boxes making everything more visible. I have found that if things are hidden away preventing you from seeing them, you don’t wear them. Once the job was completed, Sally’s follow-up service was excellent, even suggesting that after I settle in to my new wardrobe, if there were any changes needed, she would be more than happy to accommodate. We contacted Sally from Clever Closets because we were renovating a small apartment with no storage space. Together with Sally we designed a storage closet against the back wall of the living room. The mirrored doors made the room seem larger. Sally was a pleasure to work with and designed a space that ideally suited our needs. Her carpenter contractor produced a top notch finished closet. Sally was extremely thoughtful with our bedroom storage situation. Rather than suggesting a simple additional built-in, that would have made the space look smaller, she came up with a cost-effective way of redesigning our existing built-ins, and even hooked us up with a very competent trade person to do the actual job. The whole thing came in significantly under our budget and we are very happy with the finished product. We now have plenty of storage, and the room looks much nicer!

I used Sally to redesign my walk through wardrobe which needed updating. She was fantastic at looking at our individual requirements and adjusting the height of items to suit us (we are quite tall). She came up with some great ideas to use the space that I hadn't considered and now that we are using the wardrobe i can better appreciate how good those ideas were. The quality of the work from the cabinet maker she uses is great and I would highly recommend him too. My only negative would be that for old houses, like mine, there are often unforeseen problems when cupboards are removed and they could benefit from having a close relationship with a handyman who better understands what is needed when told "take out the existing cupboards". This would have shortened the process for me considerably instead of going backwards and forwards between the handyman and cabinetmaker for a couple of weeks.

We are building a new project home and I had 4 built-in robes and one walk-in robe (relatively small) to fit-out - I saw the Clever Closet website and sent a message. I was after someone who could help me design the best possible layout for each robe, given the restrictions in size and my own storage/hanging needs/desires in each robe. I had already contacted one or two of the larger wardrobe companies but none of them seemed to be able to offer much assistance in the design department (and most of them said "we can't assist until the house is built and we can come and do final measurements"). Sally contacted me almost immediately. We had a long chat and then I provided her with my own mock-up drawings of how I thought each robe should be/our storage needs. She then went to work and performed her magic !! She was able to point out all the problems with the layouts I had drawn, and then show me how I could maximise the space in each robe and, in particular how I could make my walk-in robe feel as roomy as possible (given it's very small size). Her suggestions were all so practical and things I would never have thought of on my own! I was absolutely blown away by the final drawings and her service/knowledge - all at a very reasonable price. Sally was also able to recommend quality tradespeople to do the fit-outs for me. I can't wait to see the final results (once the house is finished and the wardrobes installed). I now have more practical/usable space than I thought would be humanly possible inside my robes (2 of which are only 1265mm wide). I would highly recommend Sally & Clever Closet to anyone who needs help with their wardrobe layouts. I will certainly be using her services again in the future for some more built in cabinetry once we move into our new home!

I engaged Sally from Clever Closet Company to design the fit-out of a new walk-in-wardrobe in the main bedroom. From the first meeting onsite Sally was focussed on what I wanted to achieve with the space including the design aesthetic and she was able to suggest practical design and finish solutions. Drawings were turned around quickly and once approved Sally was able to source high quality tradespeople to build the wardrobe within my budget constraints. The Clever Closet Company worked hard while I revised the brief for our dressing room three times. Sally understood the aesthetic and practical requirements for our space and came up with something that allowed us to reflect the mid-century origins of the house in a modern and practical framework. Her recommended suppliers worked hard to ensure the finished product was as seamless as the drawings (not easy when there isn't a straight line in the house). We particularly like the fact that everything floats from the back walls, making the space as big and airy as it can be. She understood exactly how much hanging space and shoe space we really needed. We've ended up with twice as much storage as we had previously, and yet I can find everything in a moment.

I am absolutely delighted with the new robes installed in my children's rooms. It makes my heart sing to open those door and see everything so well organised and accessible. No more excuses for messy cupboards, there is a place for everything! Sally designed robes that not only meet the needs of my children now but have the flexibility to be adapted as the needs of my children change. Her detailed drawings enabled me to know exactly what I was getting prior to installation.

Clever Closet Company was recommended to us by a friend who recently had their home fitted with wardrobes and a walk in closet. Our existing wardrobes which although large, were not serving our needs. The wardrobes were always a mess, things were hard to find and we didn’t have enough storage space. From the time we called Clever Closet Company we were at ease with Sally’s obvious expertise in storage design and genuine interest in serving the needs of our family. So much so that we also asked Sally to review our laundry, which again was large, but not working or flowing well as a utility area for a large and busy family. Sally carefully listened to our concerns, assessed our storage requirements and designed layouts for each room which were tailored to the individual needs. The designs have resulted in all of the space being utilised in an efficient way, increased our wardrobe capacity and created layouts which are much easier to keep tidy. Now we can find everything. Sally at Clever Closet Company was able to visit our home, understand what we needed provide solutions and options and then went way and designed closet/storage space for three rooms. Our challenge was that we had been overseas for a number of years and needed new storage space catering for our clothes, shoes, handbags, belts, coats, bed linen. towels etc without disturbing the existing design and layout. Sally's designs were just great - functional but slick! On signing off the design Chris came on site and built the closets. Our project completed today and it really looks tremendous . The designs exceeded our expectations. The family room is now a music room and an easy spacious area to sit and talk or watch tv. The sitting room feels very adult and yet relaxing. The designs are very much in keeping with the era of the house (not a small feat for an 80's Home). The additional touches like the antique mirror and dimmer lights are superb. The designs for the children’s room are exceptional. The new shelves should be advertised as a ‘range’. It has given us another 5 years of use out of both children’s otherwise “too small” rooms. As always Sally and Jillian are both so professional and pleasant to work with and always spend the time to listen carefully and deliver on our needs right down to the smallest detail.

I worked with Sally in late 2013 on a collaboration for one of her clients. The shelving in the built-in cupboards in all four bedrooms, which Chris constructed, look fantastic. The excellent craftsmanship will not only look good for many years to come but it also has created a much more efficient use of space and it is flexible so we can change things as the children grow up. We can finally properly unpack our things and settle into our new home. A huge thank you must also be made to Sally for all her advice and assistance in preparing the design!
