"Three years after moving into our dream house, my wife and I had become sufficiently despondent about the mess our builder had left in our back yard that we rolled up our sleeves and attacked the problem head on. 18 months later, we laid the beautiful reclaimed and recycled decking tiles we sourced from Northern Rivers Recycled Timber.

The entertainment area we created has transformed poorly finished concrete and ugly besser block retaining walls into a protected sanctuary that is warm and inviting even when the winds are up on the other side of the house. The transformation can be seen in the photos we've attached.

Our decision to use the Northern Rivers decking tiles was made easy for us during a visit to the Revesby outlet. The people were friendly and helpful and showed us a number of potential styles and timber colours. The way that the tiles inter-connect using an ingenious plinth with precision locating pins meant that we were able to lay them in just a couple of hours. Each tile is robustly constructed such that cutting them to fit doesn’t impair their integrity.

While the decking tiles come oiled, I chose to apply two coats of Intergrain Ultradeck which I have also used on all of the other timber work within our entertainment area.

It is our great pleasure to be able to look down into our entertainment area from the gin & tonic deck where we sip contentedly on Sapphire Blue and home grown limes."
