Taking strong design cues from the site’s waterfront location, a walkway constructed of reclaimed pier-timbers runs from the front boundary right through the heart of the house. The recycled pier, timber baton garage door, front fence and first floor inlay illustrates a well-balanced use of timber that results in a peaceful and welcoming façade. Both interior and out, the use of recycled and new timber as floating stair-treads, lining boards, screening, pot stands and other detailing combines to make the experience both dramatic and calming at the same time.
