This chalet style property has been modernised internally in recent years and my clients wanted to remove an outside swimming pool. Steep sloping banks around the back garden were impractical and overgrown with unattractive plants.

My design created a new terrace area by filling in the pool, with separate zones for the hot tub, sofa seating, dining table, barbecue and raised beds for vegetable growing. The sloping ground has been retained by black stained Oak sleepers supported on steel H sections.

The brief was for a contemporary feel, whilst echoing the warm honey tones of brickwork on the house lower walls and the black stained timber cladding.
