Deepdene Custom New Home

A bespoke new home in Deepdene defined by clarity of form, refined materiality, and a carefully controlled relationship between privacy and openness.

The design is anchored by a signature C-shaped façade, where a large glazed opening frames views to the tree-lined street while maintaining a sense of privacy and restraint.

The material palette combines concrete and stained timber, creating a balanced contrast between solidity and warmth. Positioned on a 715 sqm site within the established Deepdene context, the home responds carefully to its surroundings while presenting a calm and composed street presence.

Internally, the spatial experience is shaped by a continuous skylight that extends through the double-height main living area, drawing natural light deep into the home. A central courtyard is integrated within the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen spaces, enhancing cross-ventilation and reinforcing the connection between interior and exterior.

The interiors are defined by soft oak finishes, clean detailing, and a restrained material palette. The kitchen is designed as a refined focal point, featuring integrated joinery and high-end Gaggenau appliances, balancing functionality with a strong architectural presence.

Carefully considered elements such as the built-in daybed within the dining area provide moments of comfort and informality, supporting everyday family living within a highly resolved spatial framework.

Overall, the project reflects a considered, architect-led approach — delivering a contemporary home that is functional, refined, and designed for long-term liveability.
