This was a dangerous kitchen. Located in the middle of the house, the only way through from the front of the house was straight through the kitchen.
There was a dance floor in the middle of this space... where the client's 2 young boys would go racing through.
We introduce storage, colour that linked the front (original) and back (extension).
I rearranged the whole kitchen, the sink was originally visible from the front door so i relocated this to the window area and added a dishwasher... perfect! I also added the return island bench to create a work zone for food prep/cooking. Fridge is opposite the island bench... and on this side is where the kids are able to join in with the food prep (on the safe side) 2 great bonuses, not to mention the added storage.
The passageway still passes through the space, but past storage cupboards and the fridge...so no more close calls with children and oven doors!!! success!!
