Luxurious Edwardian Home in Malvern
This Edwardian home, filled with light and fully operational spaces is a renovation success which refocusses on existing rooms, while crafting new and exciting areas of joy and satisfaction. The result is a richly layered interior, is the perfect balance between vibrancy and individuality matched with a homely luxurious environment.
The client brief was to unite the classic architecture with a contemporary feel and to bring it into the present by recreating liveable, modern spaces. An alfresco space leading out from the kitchen was a requirement and to incorporate a large swimming pool to the rear of the property with beautiful surrounding gardens. The internal space was designed to interact with both dining, living and kitchen areas. The kitchen is the central hub provider whilst the additional alfresco area harmonises the whole home. The unique cubby house design upstairs creates a welcome escape for the kids to relax and to be creative.
This Glen Iris residence balances heritage and minimalist architecture with classic, contemporary and clean interiors. The decoration focuses on both luxurious and functional textures and spaces with the capacity to provide familiarity combined with a calming environment. The soft furnishings in the living room is a reflection of outside coming in - ground, garden, oasis and boosts sweeping views across the backyard.
The kitchen being the central hub of this family home needed expanding and relocating to make full use of the backyard and to create a spacious kitchen/living/dining/alfresco space which for raising a family is a must. The space is open, bright, inviting combined with traditional fixtures which is a reminder this is a traditional home with a contemporary twist. The individual and functional upstairs cubby house zone truly caters to growing children and their friends.
