Welcome to our captivating residential project in Coolum, Sunshine Coast where we embarked on a creative interior journey for a family of three – a wife, husband, and teenage girl. This new build presented an exciting opportunity to infuse character into the space while accommodating the slightly opposing tastes of the couple.

Our extensive role encompassed all aspects of the interior, including redesigning the ceiling plan, creating a new lighting scheme, and curating custom joinery, finishes, and elements. The goal was to bring together the best of both worlds and merge traditional and contemporary elements seamlessly.

Drawing inspiration from the client’s unique tastes and desires, we developed a colour scheme that played with lighter and darker timber tones, allowing light colours to dominate as a backdrop for sculptural elements. Throughout the residence, we incorporated brass accents, adding touches of sophistication, while pops of green injected vibrancy into the design.

Our design approach embraced the challenge of fusing contrasting styles. A standout feature is the brass kitchen rangehood cabinet, which pays homage to traditional styles while maintaining a contemporary aesthetic, evoking a postmodern influence. To enhance the visual impact, we introduced ceiling beams that counterbalanced the elongated room, infusing it with a sense of drama and intrigue.

The result is a truly unique and harmonious design that blends tradition and contemporary allure.
