The Crescent
Located on a battle-axe shaped block, this new house is flanked by existing buildings on all four sides and largely concealed from view from the street.
The goal was to design a house that made sense in its surrounding, whilst borrowing as much amenity where possible to make this house a home. The house is almost invisible to its neighbours and to the street. But to the owners, it feels as though they are able to disappear into their own little private sanctuary.
The architecture does not seek to over-complicate things. Simple, well-thought out spaces form the basis for which this building responds sympathetically to the surrounding heritage context.
