B&B House - Manly

The main objective was to modernise the rear of the ground floor and create a strong connection between the kitchen/living area to the existing courtyard. Minor modifications were made to the exisiting courtyard area including enclosure of the external laundry and replacement of the existing back door with a larger sliding stacker door. This connection allows for light filled airy space and floods the previously dark hallway with light.
A new second storey was added including a master bedroom, robe, bathroom, lounge & a deck to the rear.
The design intention was to have a minimal impact on the street character and create a unified style between the adjacent property while maintaining the original internal character details. The enclosed front yard provides privacy and security to the house, and also creates a usable space for the owner and his two dogs.
