Beaver Creek
Beaver Creek Project is a new home and outbuildings, designed by design studio 22, on a horse stud in northern NSW. The original home had burnt down and clients wanted the new home to be of natural local materials ‘rising from the ashes’.
We selected local Ironbark cladding which has been left to age gracefully, Glenreagh stone excavated from the area with the addition of Corten rusted steel to add an immediate aged look to the building.
These materials were reflected inside with natural timber ‘barn doors’, rust look tiles for the kitchen splashback and the addition of a cloudy look polished concrete floor. These material selections fit perfectly with the clients cow hide rugs, leather furniture and unique light fittings brought out from Canada.
