Brilliant SA - Striking Contemporary Bungalow Upgrade

Bathroom inspiration and beauty!
We are in-love with our Silver Travertine ❤️
Design by Brilliant SA
Showcasing our silver travertine in a recent bathroom renovation by Brilliant SA.
Silver travertine's beauty lies in its unique colour, toning and textural variation. Display this unique tile in a herringbone pattern is a great option for creating a strong focal point, whether it be splashback or a feature wall tile.

The existing bathroom and laundry areas were swapped so that the larger laundry area became the new bathroom space. This provided more scope to include all of the clients needs. Two short walls were designed to conceal the toilet, protect the vanity from the shower and house a niche for shower products. The existing window was altered to expand right down to the floor for views directly to the garden bringing an instant effect of calm to the space whilst adding extra depth to the room and allowing natural light to flood in. Downlights were added to mimic the abundance of natural light for general/task lighting. Strip LED lighting under the mirror and vanity beautifully highlights the floating cabinetry and creates a relaxing ambience. Throughout the bathroom, the indulgences are plentiful, including under-floor heating, a luxurious twin shower, high quality tapware and a slimline above mount basin. Sleek and lineal wall cabinetry, handle-less drawers and floor-to-ceiling tiles create a distinct perception of space.

The matt white wall tiles and subtle warm floor tiles are complemented by a feature wall covered in travertine tiles. These were laid in a herringbone pattern to pay homage to the adjoining herringbone timber floor in the living room and created a visual statement upon entry to the bathroom. This soft palette sets a calming scene, with extra warmth and texture added with the use of oak timber accents. Careful consideration was given to ensure there was ample practical storage solutions without cluttering the room. Tall laundry storage was concealed in the laundry area while stylish storage solutions were incorporated in the bathroom including cabinets above the toilet, mirror cabinets & floating vanity drawers. The vanity drawers were hung below the vanity benchtop to create a enough space to be a practical feature which can be utilised for storing items such as rolled hand towels.
The outcome was functional and elegant, yet striking, suffice to say the owners were ecstatic with the end result.
