Epping House
Although prominently located at the junction of two streets, this red face brick (b/v) house built in 70s with Colorbond roof was set deep in from the front building line and made
no significant contribution to the streetscape.
The aim was to give a complete facelift to the entire house with a fresh new look-a contemporary style design with open plan living. The idea was to elevate and articulate the front and side street facades to give it an identity and street presence that enhances the
streetscape and neighbourhood.
The design brief required rationalizing the existing plan, extend to have with additional bedrooms, ensuites and living room with natural light & ventilation in abundance. The design intent was to blend the existing house with the new extension so the entire house is seamlessly integrated into one.
A sensitive and thoughtful design has emerged after careful site analysis and selection of right materials. Most importantly, the use of the right scale, materials, proportions and articulation of facades have manifested this project into delightful and rich architectural experience.
