Highbury Circuit - Play Area
Tanya & James are parents to 2 lovely boys with Tanya 37 weeks pregnant with baby number 3. She reached out to tell me that “time was getting away from her” and she needed a safe and functional space for her 5 years old’s LEGO’s and somewhere her boys could play that can be gated off from the baby.
After assessing and measuring the space, I came up with a design and got to work sorting through all the existing toys and 1,000 of LEGO pieces. In the first hour we were able to sort through 10 boxes of toys and decide which will be kept, which will be sold and which will go to assisting flood victims in the Philippines as well as youth assistance programs here in Melbourne.
Now that we knew what was left to keep, I sourced the relevant storage requirements and set up their playroom including labelling E V E R Y T H I N G!
The best part was the kids' reaction. Teddy (5 years old) - who was also my “assistant” for the second half of the organisational process - was thrilled with the colour separated LEGO’s and said that this would help him find the relevant pieces he needs to build his next project.
Creating this space for such a lovely family was an absolute pleasure.
“The best part was my kid's reactions. They actually play more in their new space and.... they cleaned up 2 nights in a row and enjoyed packing up!” — Tanya Mikheal
