The brief for this home was budget driven. The surrounding homes in this gated golf estate in Sydney's West are quite imposing and luxurious. The owners wanted a modern home which would not feel out of place amongst the other homes. The challenge was to create a low cost family home with a modern and luxurious feel. We adopted many passive design principles thereby saving further funds by reducing the need to implement any mechanical technology. Once moved in, the client has happily confirmed that the passive design principles do in fact contribute to their comfort levels.
