Dysfunctional, deteriorating and dated characterizes the existing kitchen in this 1940’s era, Oakland hills home. After years of initiating design services without success in developing their dream kitchen, the homeowners came to Custom Kitchens and were able to conceptualize the many layouts, product and materials that were available to them. Their priorities for the kitchen were first, adding space and light, and second, that the layout catered to their young family, friends, and guests that they often hosted. The homeowners were influenced to move away from all white materials to a rich pallet of natural wood and texture.
