The challenge when designing a bedroom to suit a 14/15 year old is to hit on something suitably inspiring and sophisticated that will see them through the coming years. It's often a leap in the maturity stakes but never one that is unappreciated! The resident of this bedroom loves his new space and takes great pride in keeping it looking great (yes, miraculous for a boy!). The cloudscape wallpaper allowed for a little whimsy, crisply defined by the dark charcoal walls and white plantation shutters/ trim. A custom upholstered bed adding touches of hotel luxe to this space. Plenty of storage and a large study area complete the list of requirements for this year 9 student. Contemporary lighting juxtaposed with the intricate ceiling rose adding another layer of detail. Absolutely one of my favourite projects to date, captured beautifully by Helen Ward.
