At the Garden Pavilion, everyday life is experienced through the lens of garden, light and sky. The compact 55 square metre addition includes a kitchen, living room and dining area that's abundant in both sunshine and space. Nestled between two opposing landscapes, the black clad pavilion offers a constant connection to a vista of green. The windows' many transoms enable the owners to experience the sun's movement and shadows through the living space, almost as if sitting beneath a tree's canopy. A link provides a physical connection between the original character villa and the new addition, and is tied together effortlessly through a restrained palette of natural materials including marble, stacked white brick, timber, terrazzo and polished concrete.
