This significant addition honours the site's original late 1800s stone cottage while more than doubling the home's footprint to provide much-needed space for its resident family of four. The owners came to Atelier Bond after previously engaging two other architects who had been unable to come up with a striking solution that also met their budget. Atelier Bond used the natural contours of the sloping block and designed an efficient floorplan that delivered a cost-effective solution which also packed plenty of design punch including the double-height entryway which serves a link between the old and new. Included in the addition are a new living, dining, kitchen, powder room, butler's pantry, master bedroom and ensuite. Atelier Bond was also engaged to help the residents outfit the extension with interior selections - helping it become not just a house but a home.
