The studio was required for an additional living space for day to day use, as well as to cater for guests. the Studio has its own bathroom and a comfy sofa bed for guests or just movie nights with the family. The large sliding doors ( with sliding flyscreen's) allow for a visual connection to the main house and the landscaped garden that separate's the house and the studio. the building was stepped at the roof height to deal with building code set backs, and to let controlled northern light into the new studio and bathroom spaces.
