Weatherboard Home Renovation - Elanora Heights

Extensive Renovation in Elanora Heights (Northern Beaches): external and internal renovation of an iconic Sydney weatherboard home. Incorporating a desirable open floor plan, this energy efficient home now exudes the beauty of bringing the indoors outside with expansive bi-fold doors and cathedral style timber deck

The newly designed open plan layout includes a harmonious transition from kitchen to living, creating a comfortable blended environment where light can be reached in every corner. The addition of bi-fold doors allows for ventilation and aids in blurring the boundaries of the indoor/outdoor spaces. To maximise and capture the cooling Summer breeze, strategically placed windows all with elements of Low E Energy Efficiency Glazing, were installed

Our Brief: to transform a tired, dilapidated beach cottage into a carefully considered, Hampton’s inspired home. To create a functional open plan space which includes a seamless transition from indoor to outdoor living. To encourage and not restrict the amount of sunlight entering the neighbouring living spaces

Major Features: expansive outdoor deck covering with raking ceilings and a large gable window. Exhibiting strong presence and style, this pitched roof design not only enriches the home with an open feel, it also expands the view and allows much more natural light to enter the home

Weatherboards: the original cladding was replaced with a timber based weatherboard in Wind Spray from Weathertex which mirrors colours found in the nearby coastal environment. All visual elements work cohesively to create the perfect street-side charm

Roofing: corrugated roof sheeting in Wind Spray was used for both practical and aesthetic detailing, enhancing the design of a longer, free flowing roof and tying in with the owners' desire for a Hampton’s inspired home
