What was previously a dark and uninviting space has been converted into a multi purpose area where classes can be conducted outside under the shade of trees. Students sit on the sandstone benches and the decked area around the tree doubles as a teachers station and performance stage.
Around one of the larger trees sandstone blocks double as seating and a red backed section indicates the 'Buddy Seat' area. Against the fence is a large artboard 4 meters long and attached blackboards. A small play station in this area allows children to play with water and mud. Adjacent to this, separated by a serpentine bench seat is the chessboard area. Once established Hibbertia scandens will create a vertical wall with yellow flowers to cover the mesh on the boundary. To enter this area the students cross over a dry river bed via a curved bridge. Donated murals are attached to the newly erected screens. Through a multi coloured archway raised planter boxes will give the children the opportunity to get their hands dirty and plant vegetables and herbs. Lining this area are upturned painted concrete pipes- filled with herbs and sensory plants. A paved memorial wall on the end of the garden faces out towards the school, This houses the Flagpole. Seating around the outside allows children to take lunch breaks under the trees.
