Designascape

Lynne from Designascape came to view and make recommendations for our small 40 square metre area on our ground floor unit. We are keen to do a native garden to bring in the birds and pollinators. We had a list of a few natives we liked (and some that weren't natives). Lynne gave great advice on how to make a couple of features and surround with small natives and ground covers. She then went away and drew up a to scale design which we love and intend to follow. Lynne did an absolutely beautiful job in designing our front gardens. She not only designed the garden, but she also guided me through the whole process from concept to completion. She made many site visits and visits to the nursery. The end result was an elegant, majestic entrance to our home. The colours of plants and material selections were just beautiful. She has a phenomenal knowledge of plants and all materials involved with landscape design. The process of designing and building our garden was smooth and easy. Ingrid was very understanding of the type of garden we wanted and we are very happy with the result. Easy maintenance and the use of plants we love were key requirements and she was able to deliver a garden that considered both. As an architect myself I know the design process always needs to consider changes and she was flexible and always ready to provide alternative ideas. The garden was delivered on budget and on time and looks great.

My wife and I recently enlisted the services of Designascape to come up with a design for a complete (and I mean complete) makeover of our front garden. The garden had languished for a few years and looked barren/arid. Bearing in mind that my wife and I are “senior cits” (in fact, quite senior!), our brief to the landscape designer, Lynne McLaughlan, was to rejuvenate the barren wasteland with a low-maintenance, drought tolerant, easy care garden that would transform our home and the surrounding streetscape - Lynne delivered in spades!! It was a pleasure working with Lynne - she listened to our ideas, moulded those ideas into a framework, sprinkled ideas for flower/shrub/tree/colour combinations and, bingo!, a garden design was created which exceeded our expectations. Lynne had the expertise to see the final picture as a whole, whereas we were uncertain as to what combinations would work, and what would not work, and what could be done, or not done. Lynne also played a part in the actual landscape construction by advising (telling!) the contractors what to plant, and where, and fine-tuning plantings to fit with the design objectives. We are delighted with the landscape design created for us by Lynne and, following a magnificent show of autumn tones, we now await Spring to see the garden in what will be its splendid glory. Our Vaucluse front courtyard was just that, a courtyard, until Ingrid arrived on the scene. Today, thanks to her, it's a tranquil garden space that makes our family smile every single time we come home. Ingrid immediately grasped what we were looking to do and took our thinking to a new level...literally. She introduced a raised terrace, created a lovely spot to catch the afternoon sun and chose plants that are easy to maintain and a delight to sit amongst. One neighbour described it as like living next to the Botanical Gardens!

Our strata employed Lyn to redesign , a strata block of units garden that had not been designed for nearly 30 years. I speak on behalf of all owners . We were delighted with the outcome. Lyn was very proffesional , prompt , gave a detailed garden plan, assisted in purchasing of plants, importantly in a very compatible way. We are now sitting back and watching our beautiful space flourish.

My backyard in Alexandria was run down and tired looking. The space was a good size so I knew there was a big opportunity but was stuck in deciding what to do with it. I was referred to Ingrid who came up with 3 different concepts as drawings and then I was able to blend a few aspects I really liked from each concept and settle on the final master plan. She also sourced the plants & introduced me to a great landscaper who could build the deck to the specification/drawings. Result was outstanding! Exactly what I wanted. Thanks Ingrid!

We engaged Ingrid Villata to provide a design concept that would transform our boring backyard in Monterey into a beautiful oasis! The original backyard had a weedy patch of grass, a concrete pad in the corner and an ugly metal fence. Ingrid successfully fulfilled our brief by creating both an aesthetic and functional space through her unquestionable expertise in landscape design. We loved Ingrid's ideas and were able to visualise the project from its early stages through her very detailed plans and shrubs specification. Ingrid's professionalism, responsiveness, knowledge, expertise and close attention to detail made our project seamless and enjoyable. We asked Ingrid for a low maintenance garden and her choice of plants was spot on - we particularly like the Yucca and the Bougainvillea. We love our outdoor space now and so do our friends and family .

Lynne did a really great job in providing the design, plant selection and planting expertise for our major apartment (67 apartments) garden upgrade. This included designs for 5 new garden areas over a 18 month period of construction. She is pleasant to deal with, very knowledgeable and delivers what she says she will do. Good value for money. Our apartment values have soared since the gardens were completed.

Lynn designed our new front garden and picked out all the planting for us. This was great as we were complete novices when it came to coastal gardens and her expertise was put to great use! She was very clear about what look she thought would tie in with our existing house and we are really happy with the result.

Two years after our tenant moved out of our first investment property, we decided to renovate it over the Christmas 2015/16 break. Through Flower Power, we were referred to Designascape. Lynne came out to scope the backyard and within a few days had provided a plant list and landscaping layout. Lynne was mindful of our minimal budget and worked to maximise the backyard space to achieve a contemporary, yet unique look. She suggested including low maintenance native Australian grasses and plants to suit future tenants. She also provided options should our budget increase in the future, which we felt was a value add to her service. We wanted to do a total makeover of our back garden, which had been neglected and somewhat destroyed by digging dogs. Lynne McLaughlan was recommended by our trusted nursery and she had a whole new perspective about how our garden could look. Her plans were very creative, thorough and professional and included many of our existing plants (which we appreciated), as well as some exciting, but easy maintenance, new plants.
