Wisconsin Lake House
Clients in San Francisco purchased a vacation house on the shores of Lake Michigan, sight-unseen, with an ambitious goal of renovating and completely furnishing it in three months. While the house had great bones, it needed a lot of work + love to bring out its potential, after having gone untouched for over 30 years.
To showcase the stunning lake views from the common spaces, we stayed fresh + light with soft white surfaces paired with refinished Douglas Fir subfloors (discovered underneath the old carpet). We then brought in the clients' bold aesthetic via hits of color, stripes, + playful decor, to create a home that feels like a refreshed, chic, "Midwestern Summer" reflection of their bold city-dweller style.
This project was completed 100% remotely – using FaceTime video chats, Google Maps and weather trends to estimate the light (in order to select paint colors), and in-person measurement help from the clients' family who live in the area.
