Albert Park House - Alterations & Addition

The Albert Park House involved the demolition of an existing 80's renovation to a Victorian house and the addition of more contemporary spaces at ground floor and rooftop deck on the first floor.

Our practice was involved at inception of the project until completion. Our Clients had some great ideas of their own and an interesting brief to later build a second floor. We were able to incorporate the structure to take the second storey but to stage the building works, completing the ground floor stage after local planning approval.

The stair is the feature of this home. We worked closely with the builder and stair fabricator, building in their factory to realise this engineering challenge. The indoor/outdoor kitchen has also become a popular request from new clients as this seamlessness allows so much flexibility within the space.

Locals would know that Heritage Overlays can sometimes be onerous, however with expertise in dealing with the local policies, we were able to obtain planing permission and also negotiate with neighbours for an outcome that kept all parties happy.
