Approached by current owners of this original single storey beach house, located amongst the tea-tree in the Borough of Queenscliffe. We were asked to help create a single storey extension, in keeping with the classic 1950’s style beach house, to help cater for the holiday entertaining requirements of the couple and their mature age children.
The original house plan was both compact and functional and the clients were keen to maintain both aspects but to increase the number of bedrooms, and open up the north aspect for entertaining, increase the size of the kitchen and add a wood fire in the existing lounge for atmosphere. The other part to the brief was the creation of a more obvious and sheltered entrance.
