Bespoke Renovation 8

It had to happen, eventually our families were going to ask . . . The clients for this renovation are Nicole’s parents. They currently own an original single storey beach house (read that to be shack), located by the banks of the Barwon River in beautiful Ocean Grove. Therefore Dan was asked to help create a two storey weatherboard extension, set to be their dream home (Nicole chose to adhere to the adage “don’t ever do work for family”) . With plans to demolished the ancient rear sunroom (once a verandah) and go both up and out to take advantage of the views and orientation. Dan’s task was to reorganise the layout of the existing two bedroom, single bathroom home to allow access to the proposed new bathroom and master suite on the ground floor; and a staircase leading to the proposed new kitchen and open plan living and meals area on the first floor. The clients (read that to be Nicole’s mum) have a love of white weatherboards and steep gable roofs. Therefore the proposed extension will continue this aesthetic created in the recently complete double storey garage (see Nicole’s dad did get a win, the ultimate man cave!) The proposed extension is set to have a contemporary beach house feel; polished timber floors, a minimalist new kitchen with fabulous views; a new gorgeous bathroom and ensuite; french doors on both levels that open up to large deck areas. Truly a beautiful space in which to relax with family (and your architect) and enjoy the views. This Renovation was completed in October 2014
