Character Home Extension and Renovation in Wembley
The Amerex team enjoyed building this home extension and renovation which result in a fantastic home transformation, which included adding on an Open Plan Living area encompassing a Dining, Living, Kitchen and Scullery. The Scullery is quite unique in this home and includes a sink and pantry, and a preparation area away from the main kitchen. Perfect for mess free entertaining. Originally this was a very dated character home with cramped living spaces and dark rooms. The end result is a far cry from this with natural light and spacious living areas.
This comprehensive home improvement project also added on a Master Bedroom, Ensuite, Bathroom, Powder Room, WC, and a Laundry. In addition the existing small garage was renovated and converted into a workshop - aka a man-cave!. A beautiful Alfresco area with jarrah decking was added at the rear, and is now an inviting area to enjoy for the owners.
Polished and gleaming jarrah floorboards feature throughout the home, including extra wide jarrah treads on the internal stairs, and jarrah decking in the Alfresco area. Heritage features were retained throughout, including high ceilings and skirtings, fancy cornice, and ceiling roses. While the home respects its heritage past, the bathrooms and kitchen have the best of all the modern conveniences including Caesar stone benchtops, soft closing draws, and bright and light filled spaces.
Rather uniquely for a renovation project, the entire home was reroofed - that is, the new addition, and the existing parts of the home - with new clay tiles to replace the old and battered existing tiles.
