Character Home Extension and restoration
Background – character home renovation Inglewood
This once modest home had all heritage features stripped out over the years with so-called ‘improvements’, many performed circa 1970. The home had become bland and arguably one of worst homes in the street. In fact, at one point demolition was considered.
The home was now a second generation family home and had sentimental value and the owner’s opted for a heritage sensitive renovation.
In fact, this home is in a designated heritage precinct for Inglewood as defined by the City of Stirling, so the renovation needed to follow a set of guidelines. In particular it was important to maintain and add to the heritage streetscape of the area.
The top-to-toe renovation included a complete renovation of all existing front rooms, the exterior of the home, remodeling of existing rooms to create a walk-in robe and ensuite and a major extension at the rear with open plan living, media room, guest wing, laundry, stacks of storage, a rear garage and much more.
The end result is a transformed home that is completely unrecognisable from the BEFORE photos!
Keeping the Character while adding modern features
Amerex Renovations and Additions designed and built the extension to the rear of the home, which include a media room, spacious open plan living, a large guest wing and a rear double garage.
In addition, the existing floorplan was remodelled and all existing rooms renovated.
Open Plan Living including a kitchen with a Walk-in Pantry
The open plan living area features a crisp, classic white kitchen with a walk-in pantry, a huuuuuge breakfast bar and stacks of space for family dining and living.
Renovation of existing rooms and remodeling of the front rooms in the home
All existing areas of the home were renovated and the floorplan in the front rooms was remodeled to create more functional spaces. The second bedroom behind the master bedroom was remodelled to create a walk-in robe which leads thru to a stunning ensuite bathroom.
The best house in the street
This major home extension and renovation project has transformed the home into a grand beauty that is now the pride of the neighbourhood. Heritage features galore have been reinstated and the home is a beautiful example of how modern design and clever renovation can co-exist with character and charm of bygone eras.
