The client's brief was for an easy-care garden that provided for disability and mobility considerations, whilst accommodating functional spaces for both client and their grandchildren. Vistas from inside the house was important as this provided enjoyment and garden focus. Planting and material colour palettes were introduced which complemented the new house renovations. Layering was important in small spaces to provide depth to the garden. A combination of natural stones and timber decking created balance and textural delight, which was softened by overflowing garden beds and lighting.
