This was a really enjoyable project!! Rochele Decorating was engaged to fully furnish a brand new, very contemporary apartment in Bulimba that has spectacular views to the river and city beyond. The couple was downsizing from a large Queenslander.

When furnishing an apartment “size does matter”. In making the selections, the designer from Rochele Decorating responsible for this project was very mindful to maximise comfort and storage whilst furnishing the spaces with pieces that would not look cumbersome and overbearing. Our favourite piece is the free standing bar cabinet in the living room. With its geometric patterned inlay doors it is a statement piece that also provides practical storage for wine, spirits and glassware. The gorgeous cerused oak dining table seats 6 which is perfect for a dinner party. The custom made composite concrete table outdoors has 2 matching concrete bench seats and 4 arm chairs. The table and bench seats are surprisingly light enough that they can be moved around easily. The master bedroom with a neutral palette of greys/black and off white is striking in its simplicity. The framed prints depicting ornate ceilings that hang above the bed in the master bedroom add a layer of interest to the room and are a perfect compliment to an apartment overlooking the city.

Overall the concept is characterised by clean lines, sophisticated furniture and furnishings in a neutral palette with layering of metallics and subtle pattern to give interest.
