This young family had built their home a couple of years ago. However, they now wanted furnishings to “complete” the picture and make the house their “home”. The style they were wanting to achieve was contemporary and low fuss.

The existing colour palette of the home was quite neutral with greys and whites. However, this colour scheme can have the tendency to feel “cold” if not done right. The concept that Rochele Decorating put together incorporated layers of timbers and natural fibres, soft textures and patterns to inject a sense of warmth and homeliness. Although simple and paired back:- accessories, lighting, feature wallpaper, floor rugs and artwork were pivotal additions to the spaces. These additions assist to personalise a room and give them the layers that make a space feel interesting. Even the most minimalistic of schemes will incorporate some degree of each of these elements for without them the end result can feel clinical and empty.

The hero piece for us in this design is the custom made, solid Blackwood dining table. It is so deliciously devine you would be begging for seconds of sprouts just to extend your dining experience with it!!
