HUNTLEYS COVE
We were contacted by the owners of this lovely top-floor apartment to help them with creating a light and open kitchen and bathrooms which were previously underutilised and lacked functional storage. The kitchen has been transformed into a bright and airy space with plenty of storage that works with the existing geometry rather than creating a traditional box shape. Integrating the appliances into the custom joinery makes room on the prep surfaces for a more enjoyable experience.
The two bathrooms were originally small and darker in appearance due to not having any windows or bright overhead lighting. These rooms have been transformed with the use of large format tiles to elongate the height of the ceiling to provide the space with a sense of openness that otherwise did not exist. The addition of benches allows for ease of use within the shower for actions such as shaving. This room has also been fitted with magnification mirrors which are illuminated to help with daily actions such as shaving and make-up applications.
The materials used were selected for their light reflectance to bring light and life into this apartment to create a sense of space and vibrance. The seamless finishes such as the handle-less joinery allow for minimal visual clutter in the smaller rooms and allow the use of colour and texture to be used on the walls and floors opening up each area visually.
This job was in collaboration with Matt and his team at CLN Projects who made this project not only easier for us but also for the client with their level of professionalism and attention to detail. They were able to provide all of the building needs we required on this job and made the preparation of each area of the home an easy transition for everyone involved in this renovation.
