My clients wanted to completely refurbish the ground floor of their home to create different living spaces. The existing terracotta tiles were covered with new Blackbutt timber floors and the entire ground floor painted with Dulux Lexicon, a cool white that allowed for furniture and art to pop. In the front sitting room, the focus was on creating a space for relaxing, reading and having conversation...... no TV here! The existing family room, which is also a passageway to the backyard, had been anchored with dark furniture and terracotta tiles, again the new timber floors enhanced the space and with the addition of some more refined pieces and a designer chaise, the room was opened up, especially the window, which allowed the room to be filled with natural morning light. Although each space has its own feel and function, colour and textural elements connect each one.
