Thredbo
What was once a tired double storey chalet built in the 1980's and located in the picturesque ski resort of Thredbo, our clients decided that their new Thredbo home required some serious attention by a professional designer. If ... Design Explorers was approached to give the kitchen and living area an extensive makeover and to provide consultation on styling, furniture and artwork selections for the newly renovated spaces. The general brief was for a timeless, warm and functional interior with adequate storage that could be enjoyed by family and friends during the winter and summer months. To make better use of the overall kitchen and living space, the old u-shaped kitchen was opened up with custom designed cabinetry to create an eat-in kitchen increasing the size of the living area. Additional storage and increased seating capacity was taken into consideration with a custom designed bench seat with storage under. A neutral, sophisticated palette of blond timbers, warm greys, soft taupe wool and plaids with yellow and tan leather elements was selected throughout. The result is a modern and cozy interior with a Scandinavian edge that will never date.
