Garden Design Ashgrove
Designed by Carmen Darwin http://www.carmendarwin.com
My clients had a driveway and garden that was looking tired and certainly not as inviting as they would have liked. I set to work drawing up the plans for a garden that linked perfectly with the house and enhanced the architectural features that existed.
It was important that there was a focal point from the house and I introduced a rusted steel light box to create a bit of beauty and drama to the space. From the lightbox I incorporated a larger tile to create a transition to the front door to reduce confusion for visitors.
Next to the verandah I added a dry creek bed style of garden which included low maintenance plants and river rocks. A small platform created a type of bridge to span the garden bed and welcome guests to the home.
The result was really wonderful and the owners have enjoyed many years of flowering Magnolias, creeping jasmine and very low-maintenance gardens.
