MODERN HAMPTONS HOUSE

In the large home renovation of a typical 90’s residence, our approach centers on reimagining the spatial dynamics to foster a more sustainable and open plan lifestyle that aligns with the needs of modern living in south-east Queensland. Initially characterized by a labyrinthine floor plan, the existing layout constrained both natural light and cross ventilation, resulting in a darker, less inviting interior.

The renovation unfolded in two distinct stages, beginning on Level 01, where we strategically removed a series of non-load bearing walls, along with one load-bearing wall. This pivotal change opened up the house from front to back, allowing for an abundance of natural light and improved airflow. The formerly isolated kitchen was repositioned to create a flowing connection between the kitchen, dining, and living areas, now seamlessly linked through expansive sliding stacking doors that integrate the indoor and outdoor spaces via both the front and rear balconies. Additionally, we enhanced the existing master bedroom with a newly designed ensuite that complements the refreshed ambiance as well as the addition of a new powder room.

On the ground floor, we reconfigured the layout to optimize views of the stunning pool and outdoor entertaining area. This involved relocating the laundry to make way for a new spacious kitchenette, a renovated laundry area, a redesigned bathroom, a new ensuite, a library, and a convenient powder room, all contributing to a more functional and enjoyable home environment. The entrance was also transformed, widening the entryway to create a welcoming and airy first impression.

Completing the overhaul, we implemented new flooring throughout both the interior and exterior spaces, redecorated with fresh paint, and introduced a modern front fence with a sliding car gate and pedestrian gate for enhanced security and aesthetic appeal. The surrounding landscaping was thoughtfully updated, and both the pool area and external entertaining zone were retiled, culminating in a comprehensive renovation that not only revitalizes the home but also enriches the overall lifestyle experience.
