“Better use of wasted space” – that was the brief for this lovely modern kitchen. The clients felt there was too much wasted space between their kitchen and family room, and wanted to enlarge the kitchen and maximize the storage space. So that’s what happened! The storage has nearly doubled as has the bench space, and the clients love it. The dropped ceiling is the solution to a new cooktop location that needed exhaust ventilation in a 2-storey house. It allows ducting to be added for adequate ventilation while creating a beautifully lighted ceiling feature that helps define the area and gives it a cosy feeling. The colours are cool, the textures smooth, and the lines sleek. All in all the effect is simple yet stunning, and all requirements have been met. Mission accomplished!
