The layout looked fine on paper. It wasn't. Dark cherry cabinets, a refrigerator in the wrong place, and a pantry facing the wrong direction were quietly making the kitchen harder to use every single day.
We fixed the layout without adding a single square foot.
One decision in particular — what we did with the pantry — changed how the entire main floor feels. It's the kind of move that's obvious once you see it and invisible until then.
