Bathroom remodel in Greenburgh, Westchester County NY — a
zero-threshold walk-in shower with heated floors, floating
wood vanity, and large-format tile. This one required more
than most people would expect. Designed and built by RAJ
Kitchen and Bath.

To achieve a zero-threshold shower — no curb, seamless entry —
the subfloor had to be opened up entirely. Joists were
exposed, portions removed, and the floor rebuilt with a
precise pitch toward the back of the room. Because this
bathroom shared a wet wall with the one next door, both
had to be demolished at the same time to access the
plumbing. You don't know that from looking at the finished
space. That's the point.

A 60-inch Kohler linear drain was positioned so that once
the large-format tile went in, the drain would disappear
into the design — water appears to vanish into the back
wall. Heated floors extend through the entire bathroom
and into the shower itself, so there's no temperature
shift stepping out.

Midway through installation the shower valve failed —
a rare manufacturing defect. We pulled the 48x48 tiles,
documented everything, and contacted Kohler. They sent
a technician, verified the defect, overnighted a
replacement, and covered the tile. Back on track within
a week. That's what managing a project actually looks like.
