Orterra was engaged to design a native inspired garden with plenty of entertainment value for this classic suburban Brisbane home. The overall design provided the clients with a variety of areas to relax and entertain whilst offering much needed privacy from the surrounding neighbours. The style of the design allowed the new spaces to be tied in the with existing home and the already established native gardens.

The front garden was designed to soften the front entry to the home whilst providing secluded pockets where the clients could sit and relax amongst the native flowers and wildlife.

In the rear garden was to provide all the amenities for family entertaining for those hot summer months. The creation of a stylish pool and connected entertainment space allows for great outdoor entertaining and even includes all the necessary amenities such as BBQ, seating area and even bathroom. The continuation of the native plant palette creates a soft and colourful backdrop to this ample outdoor space with still plenty of area for kids to run around on the grassy lawn.

As per our commitment to sustainability, we retained as much of the mature vegetation already present on the property as well as proposed new plants that were locally sourced, native and provide shade and biodiversity benefits as much as possible.

We are so happy to see the space come alive and are even happier to see the clients enjoying their beautiful new outdoor space. We have do doubt that there will be plenty of entertaining happening around here!
