Project Brief:
to create a practical and playful garden for a young family complimenting their newly renovated modern home;
incorporation of areas for the kids to play cricket and also be able to cycle along the pathways;
having an outdoor kid entertaining area complete with a hand painted mural;
consideration of the council’s regulatory requirements for planting and significant tree protection;
to emphasis the feel of a cottage garden for the 1300 SQM garden area;
to build in use of sculptural elements and artwork; and
to incorporate edibles into the planting palette have have a dedicated area.

Project loves:
heavy use of cottage and perennial planting;
some feature roses reflecting the children’s names; wide range of materials and textures bringing it all together!;
some hidden pockets within the garden to encourage the children to explore a garden full of character and discovery;
a child friendly and practical vegetable patch and mini fruit orchard; and the massive chicken coop!
