Feature bath with large vanity has created a luxury bathroom

This stunning bathroom is an excellent example of luxury and opulence and was created by merging two small, dysfunctional ensuites to create one large room. The dividing wall between the rooms was removed and the supporting beam replaced.
The owners specified a freestanding bath to sit as the central feature of the bathroom in the middle of the floor with a large vanity along one wall. In particular, the vanity needed to include plenty of storage space as well as a designated make-up area with stool. A double shower was included for the ultimate in indulgent bathing.
The classic design of the home is reflected in the choice of fittings and fixtures to create a timeless ambiance. To continue the theme, the panelling from the vanity is reflected in the bath surround. Natural stone abounds in this bathroom, used for the large-format floor tiles as well as the bath surround and vanity top. To balance the large space, the bath is placed symmetrically between the two windows while the floor joists underneath were reinforced to allow for the weight of the bath when full.
This project presented a challenge in terms of re-locating the plumbing and electrical points on the top floor of a two-storey dwelling but this was overcome during the construction phase with careful thought and planning.
