Walk-in Bathroom Adjacent to Main Bedroom With Clever Sliding Glass Panel

As one of four bathrooms designed and built in this home, the main ensuite is the focal point of the master bedroom and, as such, needed to encompass a classic style so it won’t date.
To ensure the space is warm and welcoming after a long, tiring day, a combination of finishes was chosen. Contemporary, streamlined touches include the black-and-white colour scheme and the stunning freestanding bath. These work in conjunction with traditional touches such as the nickel basin tapware and shower fitting.
The monochromatic colour scheme is striking but is softened by the open structure of the vanity unit with its gleaming nickel legs and the semi-frosted glass elements. For privacy, a sliding glass door was carefully constructed to travel back and forth between the shower enclosure and the toilet area. This was the trickiest element of the bathroom’s construction but was well worth the effort as the owners are so pleased with the end result.
As the main visual feature, the floor gives the bathroom incredible visual depth with its shining black surface shot through with veins of white. Because a single slab was impossible to lay in this location, the floor was actually cut to size on site from the main slab then laid to match the grain perfectly across the breadth of the bathroom.
