Large bathroom transformation creates a welcome haven
This ensuite was built for a busy husband and wife who needed a space that would be a welcome haven and a relaxing place in which to unwind. Brindabella was asked to provide a free-standing bath for a contemporary feel with a walk-in shower that would contribute to the overall feel of a ‘wet room’. Keeping the fittings and fixtures minimal in design allows the magnificent bath to take centre stage and reduces the amount of visual clutter in the room. The large mirror stands proudly above the vanity and is a feature piece which absorbs natural light and bounces it around the room as well as giving the impression of a very large space. A modern architectural grate is the perfect addition to the design of the bathroom with large-format tiles making the room feel even more spacious. One of the main challenges faced by the designer was complying with all relevant Australian Standards in a two-storey dwelling in which the levels were divided by a concrete slab. The concrete slab made it more difficult, although not impossible, to move drainage and plumbing services but the effort was well worth it and the homeowners are thrilled with their new bathroom.
