Gaythorne - Renovation

This project was a sustainable renovation packed with ideas on a very tight budget. Our clients wanted to have more living space. They had a great outodoor deck but the internal house planning did not relate to it. We replanned the interior and moved teh kitchen to create open plan living areas and a proper entry space. We only added 2 square metres - which was the pop out window to the main bedroom to make a narrow bedroom a workable size.

Glass splashback windows are a great solution for light and outlook from the work area.

A cluster of secondhand glass pendant light shades were used to add character above a kitchen bench area.

Simple cost effective plywood shelving in the entry hallway are very functional and add loads of interest and character. The large orange secondhand glass pendant light shade was cost effective and very cool!

An existing small bedroom was extended by adding a small pop-out bedhead. The addition of this small area and some new windows made the room feel much larger.

An interesting and cost efficient way to add extra space to a small bedroom - a small pop-out extension. This can create a bedhead space or a window seat. Existing weatherboards were reused in a different way to add interest.

Pop out wall

The entry was originally just a stair with no weather protection. We added a room and an interesting screen made from left over weatherboards . This solution gave the entry unique character and provided privacy from the street.

A simple powder room. Splashback tiles run right up the wall in a narrow area to create an interesting finish and add height to the space.
