Petrie Terrace R - Renovation & Extension

Renovation and extension of a small 1863 timber workers cottage in the historic suburb of Petrie Terrace in the centre of Brisbane. The original house was carefully retained and lifted slightly without affecting its street appearance. Extension included a new sympathetic extension to the rear and new contemporary 70's inspired lower level living area connecting to the garden.

New extension to the rear. A mix of materials reflecting a range of traditional eras put together in a contemporary composition. Timber weatherboards - horizontal and vertical. Fibre cement sheeting with timber battens to joins.

New bathroom fitout on the old veranda of a historic 1863 timber workers cottage. The original single skin back wall has been retained and painted dark grey. The existing timber window has remained in place.
